Сulmination of Christmas fun in Spain

Back
In Spain, the sixth of January is a holiday called Cabalgate de los Reyes Magos.
On this day three biblical kings Melchior, Gaspar, and Baltasar ride camels through the streets of Las Palmas. After greeting the kings at the cavalcade in town, children are supposed to go home and go to bed early. They clean and put out their shoes, and the following morning, find the gifts which they requested, in and around their shoes. According to this tradition, the children who have behaved badly during the previous year receive coal rather than candy, though (as in the case of Santa Claus) this is not a frequent occurrence. This holiday is a symbol of the New Year and Christmas in Spain.

During the holiday, the ship was welcoming guests and arranging excursions. The vessel was visited by 1,798 people. This stay was a memorable event for the cadets and the locals.
