The world's largest sailing training ship (STS) barque Sedov, is making her second circumnavigation of the world. She is one of the oldest sailing vessels which are still in operation.
During her stay in Vladivostok guests from Vladivostok regional TV company visited the vessel. The TV presenter found out why such ships were called "windjammer". The word came from the English word "to jam" as the sails were so large that they seemed to "jam" the wind. The media people were also interviewing the cadets about their emotions experienced when climbing the masts or holding a huge historic wheel of the ship.
