International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance, created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute forty years ago. Since then the event takes place every year on 29 April, which is the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet. Sedov's dance competition was initiated by the barque's Master Yevgeny Romashkin.

The competition was begun by the team of the Baltic State Academy of fishing fleet with the Russian sailors dance known as "Yablochko". The folk theme was developed by cadets of the Volga-Caspian Maritime Fishing College. They started their performance with a fast and dynamic North Caucasian dance "Lezginka". Then another group of cadets from Astrakhan came up with a funny walz. The partners were whirling round and round and finally demonstrated some comic lifts.

The team of the Kaliningrad Maritime Fishing College staged a heart-piercing dance about first love.

One of the most striking and memorable performances was made by the guys from Kamchatka. It was dance mashup, a mixture of Russian folk dances and modern choreography.

The dance battle was concluded by the team of Saint Petersburg Maritime Fishing College with a real Rock & Roll. All the guys were creative and talented, so it was extremely hard decide on the winner. In the end Master Yevgeny Romashkin thanked everyone for the beautiful and bright performances and handed a crystal commemorative statuette to Saint Petersburg team.

Next day was marked with birthday boys and girls congratulation. The cooks pleased April celebrants with homemade cakes.
