Black sea. Commemorating the war dead

Back
The Black sea witnessed a lot of battles. Glorious Russian and Soviet navy seamen defended their Homeland from invasions in its waters. A lot of patriots in the truest sense found here a peaceful harbour for the eternal rest.
During the Great Patriotic War, the Black Sea Fleet defended Soviet coasts and military bases, supplied the besieged garrisons and evacuated civilians, gave gunfire support to the army. Kerch-Feodosia Landing Operation, Battle of the Caucasus, and participation in the defense of Odessa and Sevastopol are just a few of the most important operations in the history of the Black Sea Fleet.

The 75th anniversary of the Great Victory is approaching. Before entering the port of Novorossiysk, on April 21, the crew of the Kruzenshtern held a ceremony in honour of the war dead. At nine o'clock the wreath was lowered to the water of the Black Sea.

The evening before a themed event dedicated to the Great Patriotic War was arranged. Such key events of the war as the siege of Leningrad, the battle of Stalingrad, and the battle of Kursk were discussed.
