The filming process is timed to the beginning of the round-the-world expedition of the Rosrybolovstvo sailing fleet to Antarctica, which starts in November-December 2019 and will be finished at the end of 2020. In addition to the Sedov and the Kruzenshtern which will leave Kaliningrad on December 7, the expedition will have one more participant - the frigate Pallada. She will put to sea from Vladivostok on November 1.
The project is supported by the Baltic State Academy of Fishing Fleet, which manages the training sailing vessels (the historic four-mast barques Kruzenshtern and Sedov). Currently, all vessels are undergoing repairs and maintenance on the eve of the large-scale voyage.
On September 23, 2019, the non-commercial partnership for the promotion of cinema and tourism in the Kaliningrad region began making a film dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by expeditions of Russian seafarers F. Bellingshausen and M. Lazarev.
