The participants had arrived to the starting line in advance and stopped the main engines. So, the ships appeared to be at the mercy of the waves and wind. Soon the regatta began. Today's start was preceded by joint maneuvers. The maneuvers helped the ships to coordinate the details and to keep safe distance while sailing.

According to available wind forecasts, the regatta should finish in the afternoon of February 21. Upon crossing the finish line of 200-mile regatta, the Masters will submit Declarations stating the time of finishing and the total time spent en route.

However, there will be no winners or losers in this regatta. The very idea of the event is rather symbolic.It underlines that every participant of the regatta belongs in the history of Maritime Russia and shares the traditions of Russian sailing fleet.
